New Makeup Storage Set Up/Organization

Hello Beauties! I recently picked up a few items for storage for my little growing makeup collection. I love looking at and viewing makeup storage post/videos. They always give me great ideas. Right now I don't have the space to set up my makeup the way I want it to be but I think I did a good job making do with the space I available now. Unfortunately I have to set up my makeup on my bathroom counter (I know, I know cardinal sin) & here are a few pictures on how I have everything set up.

My bathroom counter

*Four brush holders
*Lipstick holder (24 count, the container store)
*Two pink canisters (Michaels)
*3 Drawer Acryllic Case (the container store)
*MUJI 5 drawer acryllic case (MUJI Online Store)

**More Pics**

(sorry about the flash, I have no natural lighting in my bathroom)

Just to give an idea of how much the MUJI drawers hold
*6 of the larger MAC powders(blush, MSF, etc)
*4 MAC eyeshadows down, 6 across
*2 MAC blushes down, 4 across
*3 NARS blushes down, 3 across
*3 Sleek Makeup blushes down, 3 across

As you can tell this isn't ideal to store a lot of products, I was aware of this before purchasing. I got it because it's great to hold the products I reach for the most. The rest of my makeup is stored in drawers, and this is more at arms reach for me when I'm applying my makeup. Plus I think it looks really cute, once I move I may purchase another for my vanity.

These drawers are not as long as the MUJI drawers but they are deeper, great for layering products on top of each other. I can fit another row of lipglosses on top of these two. The MUJI drawers aren't deep enough to hold MAC paint pots, but they can hold the new Maybelline Tattoo shadows. These drawers can stack two Maybelline Tattoo shadows.

In the pink canisters, I have eye and lip pencils in one and lipgloss and glitter eye liners in the other.

Eventually I want a vanity in my room with some type of storage system right on the side of it, then I'll put these type of drawers on top of that. I really like the Alex units from IKEA.

If you have an other ideas or any questions please leave them in the comments below.
Thanks for reading!

Coastal Scents Hot Pots/Palette Review

Hello Beauties! As I promised from my Black Friday Haul post I would update the information on the Coastal Scents hot pot palette I purchased. As you may already know Coastal Scents had a site wide 50% off sale for Black Friday and I purchased 12 hot pots and recieved the empty palette for free with purchase.

Here's what the palette looks like closed:

Here's a picture of the palette with a MAC palette for comparison. As you can see it is a bit smaller, which may be better for storage purposes. The CS palette is a bit heavier then the MAC palette, because of the mirror.

The palette opened

Up close of the shadows

1st row left to right:
*Salmon Peach (HP - 009) or S09
*Satin Lavender (HP - 019) or S19
*Jungle Green (HP - 052) or M02
*Maroon Berry (HP - 075) or M25

2nd row left to right:
*Peachy Copper (HP - 039) or S39
*Orchid (HP - 020) or S20
*Deep Sage (HP - 055) or M05
*Burnt Umber (HP - 075) or M24

3rd row left to right:
*Sunset Gold (HP - ME25)
*Tyrian Purple (HP - 013) or S13
*Kiwi Green (HP - ME09)
*Dark Golden Olive (HP - ME25)

These shadows come in several finishes, here's a key to what they mean:
S - Shimmer
ME - Creative Me Metal Mania Collection
HP - Hot Pot
M - Matte
The also have on the site:
B - Blush
CM - Creative Me #1 Palette

Pros:
*Price - When I purchased they were $3.95 (some on clearance for $1.49) but now they are $1.99 with some still available for the clearance price. Also as stated before if you buy 12 you get the palette for free.

*Wide range of colors/finishes - While most of the shades I purchased are really similar, on the website they have a wide variety of colors. They have a lot of bright/bold colors and there are some neutrals as well.

*Palette (mirror) - I like the fact that this palette comes with a mirror. Although it's not a must for me but sometimes when traveling it comes in handy when I need to look up close at what I'm doing. The palette is $5.95. I've read that MAC e/s don't fit, but when I placed it in mine they fit. This is also a cheaper alternative to buying MAC palettes.

*Pigmententation - The shadows are really pigmented, with great color payoff. They also are really easy to blend.

Cons:

*Name/Numbering System - The fact that the back of the eye shadow has one number and on the website they now have names and a different number may be difficult for those who are looking up swatches (I included both the old and new names/numbers).

*The amount in each pan  - I searched the website high and low & I could not find out how much product was in each pan. I do know they are in the standard 26mm size pan.

 Swatches

From left to right: Salmon Peach, Peachy Copper, Sunset Gold, Satin Lavender, Orchid, Tyrian Purple

From left to right: Jungle Green, Deep Sage, Kiwi Green, Maroon Berry, Burnt Umber, Dark Golden Olive

I'm really satisfied with my purchase, these are some pretty good shadows for a great price. I know many people want to know how these compare to MAC eye shadows, IMO I do not feel like they are as good but they are still nice quality. MAC is $11.50 per pan and these are $1.99. I do recommend these, especially if you are looking to expand your eye shadow collection without spending too much money.

If you have any questions, please feel free to leave them in the comments below and check back for a response.

Thanks so much for reading!!

My {Current} Top Ten MAC Eyeshadows

Hello Beauties! If you can't tell from my posts already but I LOVE MAC eye shadows! I have a growing collection of around 40-50 shadows and I wanted to share with you all my top ten.

Top Row (from left to right) - Soft Brown, Naked Lunch, Rule, Samoa Silk, Brule
Bottom Row (from left to right) - All That Glitters, Brown Script, Expensive Pink, Woodwinked, Plum Dressing

1. Soft Brown (Matte) - Described as "Soft Golden Peachy Brown". This shade is really close to my skin tone & I use it almost everyday as my transition color.

2. Naked Lunch (Frost) - Described as "Minimal Pink w/Shimmer". I use this shade quite often as a highlight for my brow bone area.

3. Rule (Matte) - Described as "Vivid Orange" shade. I love this for blending my crease area when I want more color.

4. Samoa Silk (Veluxe) - Described as "Polynesian Peach". Initially I thought this was a matte shade but when I looked it up it's under the Veluxe shades, to me it applies like all the other matte MAC shades I own. I like using this shadow for several different purposes, I call it my "Jack of all Trades" shade. I use it as a lid color, to blend out crease colors, and as a brow bone highlight as well.

5. Brule (Satin) - Described as "Soft Creamy-Beige". I use this as a brow bone highlight color or I sometimes mix it with Naked Lunch and use that as a lid color.

6. All That Glitters ( Veluxe Pearl) - Described as "Beige w/Gold Pearl. This is my favorite lid color ever. I use this all the time with Embark e/s as one of my daily looks for school.

7. Brown Script (Matte2) -Described as "Warm Chestnut Brown". This brown compliments my skin tone really well and I use for my crease area.

 8. Expensive Pink (Veluxe Pearl) - Described as "Pink w/Duochrome". This was among my first few MAC eye shadows and I've loved it from the beginning. I use this for my lid and sometimes as a inner corner highlight.

9. Woodwinked (Veluxe Pearl) - Described as "Warm Antique Gold". This color is good for using as a wash of color over the entire lid and perfect for those days when you are in a rush. It looks beautiful alone but also looks great with other colors as well. Everyone says it's a must for WOC, but I think it's a must for all skin tones.

10. Plum Dressing (Veluxe Pearl) - Described as "Pinky-Plum w/Metal". I got this color during the summer this year and it instantly became one of my favorites. I'm all for pinky-purplish goodness. I use this primarily as a crease color with darker purples such as MAC's Shadowy lady and the wonderful MUFE #92.

Swatches

From left to right - Soft Brown, Naked Lunch, Rule, Samoa Silk, Brule

From left to right - All That Glitters, Brown Script, Expensive Pink, Woodwinked, Plum Dressing

Honorable Mentions

Chrome Yellow (matte) - Described as "Vivid Bright Yellow". I used this color quite often in the summer time. It is really difficult to work with but the end result is really pretty and I purchased MAC's Chromaline in Primary Yellow to use as a base for this and it really helps with the pigmentation.

Plumage (matte) - Described as "Dusky Peacock". This is a gorgeous dark green shade and the pigmentation is insane. It is the most pigmented matte shade I own from MAC.

I think it's safe to say that the Veluxe Pearl finish is my favorite finish from MAC but I know that the matte finish is in a close second.

I'd love any new suggestions!

Collective MAC Haul

Hello Beauties! So as you may know MAC has been dishing out the collections & me being the MAC lover that I am picked up a few things. I did not go too crazy I just picked up things I thought would be great additions to my collection. I wanted to share with you all what I got so on to the haul, enjoy!

The collections I hauled from are Tour de Fabulous, Naturally and Iris Apfel. The things I purchased from Daphne Guinness were in my Purple Hues post.

Tour de Fabulous
Style-Packed
I took one look at this it was LOVE at 1st sight!

MAC Naturally
Fresh Honey Mineralize Blush
Early Morning Mineralize Blush
Redhead Mineralize Skin Finish
286 Duo Fiber Blending Brush

Iris Apfel
Pink Pigeon
Party Parrot
Scarlet Ibis

These lipsticks are my favorite things I've purchased in a while. I absolutely love them! The are fun, bright, and MATTE! Talk about my kind of lipstick! They sold out online really quickly. I thought they were coming to MAC counters (the only thing I have near me) so I didn't order when I actually had the chance & I almost a heart attack when the girl told me they were MAC store only. Luckily I called the nearest MAC store and they were able to ship them to me. Whoo crisis averted.

Did you get anything from these collections?

FaveReds

Hello Beauties! I'm here with another post to share my favorite red lipsticks (with one lip stain and one gloss lol). It's no secret I LOVE RED LIPSTICK!! Especially matte red lipstick as most of the lipsticks in this post have a matte, semi-matte, or satin finish. It is my favorite shade of lipstick and I wear it every chance I get. Pink lipstick comes in a close second so be on the lookout for that post. On to the lovely red lipsticks, enjoy!

The Lipsticks

From left to right:
*Sephora Cream Lip Stain - Always Red
This is found under the lipgloss category on Sephora but to me it's more like a lipstick than a lip gloss. This is my ultimate favorite of the bunch. It dries completely matte, once it sets it DOES NOT budge and the color stays vibrant for a really long time. I take this off with my makeup remover and it does not stain my lips. I also really love the smell (it reminds me of cherry coke).

*MAC Pro Longwear Lipglass - Driven By Love
This is the one lip gloss of the bunch, I have a few other red lip glosses but this one by far is my favorite. It is really opaque. It can be wore alone or on top of a red lipstick. I typically wear this paired with a red lip pencil.

*MAC Lipstick - Ruby Woo
This lipstick is a gorgeous blue based red with a retrograde matte finish. This is a really popular shade so as you may already know it is a pain to work with and it is very drying on the lips. Despite that it is a gorgeous color and if you aren't afraid of a challenge you will love it.

*MAC Lipstick - Russian Red
Now this is my favorite red lipstick. I like this one way more than I do Ruby Woo. It is more yellow based than blue based and it's way easier to work with.

*MAC Mattene Lipstick - Eden Rouge
This is one of my newer shades. I went back and forth with this lipstick because I feel like it's really similar to shades I already own. Be that as it may I really like this lipstick since it's semi-matte it is not as drying.

*Wet-N-Wild Mega Last Lip Color - 911D Spotlight Red
This $2.99 lipstick is just as fabulous as the other lipsticks featured. It is just as vibrant as the others and I love it just the same.

*Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick - Fabulous Fig
I would call this the odd ball of the group. It is the only wine color of the bunch. I purchased this at the beginning of the fall season and I instantly fell in love. I wear this when I want a bit of color but not a loud vivid amount color.

FOTD: Wild Flower

Hello Beauties! Let me first start off by saying that this is an inspired look that I've seen a few people do on YouTube, no I did not come up with this idea myself. Anywhoo, this is a really fun a bright makeup look for the daring. I would call this something like a reverse rainbow. There's the cool eye with the warm lower lash line and then there's the warm eye with the cool lower lash line. This is not one your everyday makeup looks, but I enjoy doing looks like this when I have the time. Yes I did wear this is public but that's just me, I don't care what people think & stares don't bother me. On to the look, enjoy!

Purple Hues.

Hello Beauties! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Holiday & got everything they wanted from Santa! While going through the beauty products I've hauled lately (who doesn't love Christmas $$) and I noticed a lot of the things I got were various shades of purple. I love purple year around but lately I've been into cooler tones, I'm guessing it's because of the cooler weather. Here are the things I got, enjoy!

Blushes

MAC Blush Ombre - Vibrant Grape
MAC Blush Ombre - Azalea Blossom
These two blush ombres were released on the 26th with the Daphne Guinness Collection. I know these are limited edition that only come around every so often. They both are really pretty and if you want them get them while they are still available for purchase!
MAC Blush - Breath of Plum

Eyes

Maybelline Tattoo Shadow - Painted Purple
MAC Pigment - Circa Plum
This pigment was also released with the Daphne Guinness collection and it was on my wish list, but luckily I found it at a CCO in the old pigment jar for only $13!
MAC Eyeshadow - Sketch
MAC Eyeshadow - Satin Taupe
I know you're probably thinking that this post is supposed to be about purple hues so why is she showing a taupe eyeshadow?! Well this lovely eyeshadow has a really nice purple undertone.

Lips
Essence Stay with me Long lasting Lip Gloss - Berry Me!
Essence Stay with me Long lasting Lip Gloss - I Like Cotton Candy
MAC Cremesheen Glass - Narcissist
MAC Kissable Lip Colour - Flaunting It
I also found this at the CCO. I forgot what collection this came out with.

Nail Polish
ULTA Nail Lacquer - Celebutante
