Makeup Haul: MAC & NARS.

Hello Beauties! I have a small haul of some makeup items I picked up recently. April has been a month full of buying makeup for me with those MAC collections, the Sephora Chic Week sale, and even NARS had a 20% off code on their website. I do plan to take a small break during May so I'm crossing my fingers with that (it's so hard lol) but anyways here's what I got.

NARS Blush
Gilda (l) - "Perfect coral with a hint of red"
Liberte (r) - "Burnished apricot"

Both these blushes are perfect additions to my current addiction, orange/coral blushes.

MAC In Extra Dimension Skin Finish - Superb "Soft peachy nude with multi dimensional shimmer"

I mentioned I wanted this in my MAC In Extra Dimension haul and I am so glad I got it because it's gorgeous! If you like highlighters and you have a chance to get one I really recommend trying at least one of these. They are really amazing!

MAC Power Blush - Magenta "Bright magenta"

I initially was hesitant about this blush for several different reasons but once I swatched it at MAC I knew I had to have it. It's gorgeous but I will say it requires a very light hand.

Swatches from left to right: Superb, Magenta, Liberte, Gilda

Sonia Kashuk Luxe - Agent Provocateur Train Case

Hello Beauties! This post features the Sonia Kashuk Luxe - Agent Provacateur Train Case.

Many years ago (long before I was into makeup) I recieved a train case a gift and immediately thought to myself "I don't want this because I don't wear makeup!" so after letting it sit there for many months untouched I came up with the bright idea that it would be where I stored my jewlery.

So when I got into makeup I did not have anything to store my makeup in when I traveled, I used to use like 4-5 small makeup bags (because for some strange reason I like to bring half of my collection when I travel, but that's another story) until I found this beauty. I used to hate packing my makeup but this train case has erased that headach for me!

What I really like most about this train case is the design.  It's really not that big and bulky but it stores a lot of stuff. I only had to have a seperate bag for my brushes and lip products but that was mainly by choice because they could have been stored in the compartments at the top.

Where to buy: Target online (I don't think these are available in store)/ here.

More photos of what it holds inside!

As you can see it holds quite a bit of stuff. I would not say this is made for a makeup artist but if you are just a makeup lover like myself I think this is perfect for you.

Illamasqua Powder Blusher: Excite.

Hello Beauties! I have a short story for you guys, when I went to Sephora to get the Pantone blush duo I walked straight to that because I knew that's why I went in there and wanted to go in and out with just that.

As I was attempting to walk straight out of the store I spotted this beauty out of my peripheral! The Sephora near me does not have an Illamasqua section so I was wondering what this was doing there. I actually looked around the store in hopes that there was more Illamasqua but this blush was the only product because it was featured in the color of the year section. I quickly grabbed one of the last two they had left and headed to check out, again.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year Blush Duo.

Hello Beauties! You ever just see something and from that moment on you can't think about anything but that until you get your hands on it? Well this product is exactly that for me. The Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year Blush Duo was love at first site for me. I love the color of the blushes, the packaging and even the box it came it! I knew that Sephora was having a 15% off sale so I waited to purchase it but I tell you it was a hard, long wait knowing it was right there and I couldn't get it yet.

*Price: 26.00
*Size: .38 oz (each blush)
*Where to buy: Sephora stores and online

More photos and swatches!

Swatches from left to right:

MAC In Extra Dimension Haul: Initial Thoughts + Swatches.

Hello Beauties! I only hauled one thing from the MAC Collection, In Extra Dimension but I must say it's one of my favorite things I've purchased in a while. I purchased Glorify Extra Dimension Skin Finish and it is a gorgeous highlighter that I am already in love with. MAC describes it as "copper with golden shimmer" and I don't own anything like this in my collection.

*Price: 29.00
*Amount: 9g
*Where to buy: MAC online or local counter/store

More photos and swatches!

Swatches: blended out (l), heavily swatched (r)

Initial thoughts: All the hype about these skin finishes are for good reason. The texture of these are softer and creamier that the mineralize skin finishes. They look and feel better applied to the skin. I keep going back and forth about getting Superb but I might just lose that battle and get it before it's gone and I regret it later.

MAC Reel Sexy Haul: Initial Thoughts + Swatches.

Hello Beauties! Here's my post with what I hauled from the MAC Reel Sexy Collection. I only picked up lip products from this collection although I do have my eye on Magenta Blush. Lately from the new MAC collections the lipsticks have been the stars of the show. They have been beautiful bright and bold colors and that's exactly what I love in a lipstick. I did haul Watch Me Shimmer from the Shop MAC collection but I included it in this post with swatches. I also purchased one cremesheen glass, those are my favorite lip glosses ever.

From left to right:
Star Quality Cremesheen Glass
Reel Sexy Lipstick
Heroine Lipstick
Watch Me Shimmer Lipstick

*Price: 19.50 for the cremesheen glass, 14.50 for the lipsticks
*Amount: 2.7 ml  for the cremesheen glass, 3 g for the lipsticks
*Where to buy: MAC website or local store/counter

More photos and swatches!

Reel Sexy Lipstick - Amplified finish

Heroine Lipstick - Matte finish

Watch Me Shimmer Lipstick - Amplified finish

Star Quality Cremesheen Glass

Swatches from left to right:
Star Quality Cremesheen Glass
Watch Me Shimmer lipstick
Heroine lipstick
Reel Sexy lipstick

Initial thoughts: I am really loving all of these. MAC lipsticks are my favorite lipsticks and these are no different. They are all really pigmented and they have a great staying power for me. I was a bit hesitant about Reel Sexy lipstick because I thought it would be too light but paired with NYX orange lip pencil it looks wonderful. I'm really happy about adding these to my collection and I'm happy I got my hands on these. As of now I know all of the lipsticks are sold out on the MAC website so I would try looking for these at a local counter or in store.

MAC Tres Cheek Haul: Initial Thoughts + Swatches.

Hello Beauties! Now as you may or may not know MAC released a few new collections this month and instead of doing one big haul post I decided to break each one up and actually include swatches. This post will feature what I purchased from the Tres Cheek collection. I'll admit I'm a bit of a blush lover and when I first heard MAC was releasing six new blushes I was over the hills excited but when I saw the color story and initial swatches my excitement decreased. They are really lovely colors just not what I thought they would be.

From left to right:
*Immortal Flower
*Love Cloud
*Modern Mandarin

*Price: 20.00
*Amount: 6g
*Finish: These each have a satin finish
*Where to buy: MAC website or local store/counter

More photos and swatches!

Immortal Flower

Love Cloud

Modern Mandarin

Swatches from left to right:
Modern Mandarin
Love Cloud
Immortal Flower

Initial thoughts: As I said before these are not a knock out of the park for me but I'm not totally disappointed. Of the three Modern Mandarin is my favorite and I can see it being used quite a bit for Spring and Summer. Love Cloud is the only one I've worn out so far and it did hold up on my cheeks for a good 5+ hours. Immortal Flower is a tad bit too light and I have to build it up for it to show up on my skin tone, but thankfully they all look better actually applied to the cheeks than they do in pan or in swatches.

March Favorites.

Hello Beauties! I have a real quick post here to show some of the products I used quite a bit during the month of March.

March Favorites

Face
1. MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder/Pressed
I typically have normal/dry skin but with the humidity where I live my face (especially my t-zone) can get really oily and this keeps me dry all day. I actually carry this with me on days I'm going to be out for a while.

2. MAC  Mineralize Skin Finish - Redhead
This was my go-to highlighter this month. I love the subtle glow it gives my skin paired with Fresh Honey mineralize blush.

Eyes

3. MAC Eye Shadow - Arena
I love using this as a brow bone high light.

4. MAC Pigment - Naked
This is my favorite pigment ever! I got it in one of the holiday sets with the small tubes that were a pain to use but ever since I put it in this jar from Michael's I use it in my inner corner daily.

5. Wet n Wild Color Icon Single Eye Shadow - Stage Drive
This is a beautiful blue eye shadow and it's really pigmented!

Blush

6. MAC Mineralize Blush - Fresh Honey
I really love this blush! It gives my skin a really nice warm glow. I wore this blush almost everyday and that's why it's only one blush this month, believe me I'm really surprised.

Lips

7. MAC Kissable Lip Colour - So Vain
This is more of an everyday color without having to wear actual lipstick and I stayed away from gloss a lot in March because the wind and my hair don't mix well with lip gloss.

8. Wet n Wild Mega Shine Lipstick - 24 Carrot Gold
This is a must have orange shade for Summer!

9. NYX Xtreme Lip Cream - Strawberry Jam
This is a gorgeous, highly pigmented raspberry pink color and I love the formula of these way better than the matte lip creams. I need to pick up more shades.

10. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter - Pink Truffle
This was perfect for me on days when I was not wearing any makeup. It's a "my lips but better" color and I love how these feel on the lips, just like butter.

What were some of your favorites in March?
